Leaving Lubbock: Part 4- The Final Move

I'm slacking quite a bit on getting pictures posted in a timely manner but I'm going to make an effort to catch up! Here's the final installment of our move to The Woodlands. I flew up to Lubbock on April 5th to supervise the moving company that moving all of our stuff as well as to close on the sale of our house. I then flew back to The Woodlands to be there when the movers delivered all off our stuff to my parents' house. Here's a little look at how it all went:

The good ol' Mayflower moving truck showed up on moving day. Thank God Mark's new job was footing the bill...moving is NOT cheap!
Slowly, the truck filled up.
When we left for The Woodlands back in March, we had only accepted an offer on our house just two days prior. Just in case things didn't go through, we left the house completely set up in case realtors had to start showing it again. It was wild...and somewhat emotional...to see it go from this...
...to this...
...to this. So many memories in this little room.
On the other side of the state, my dad (aka "Pa") was my accomplice on delivery day. (Pinkie was at jury duty)
I had to stay up at the garage and check box numbers off the list as they rolled them in so Pa was more than happy to take the boys on little trips down to look inside the moving van.
The boys got to enjoy their lunch out at their little boy table while they watched the movers.
Rudy flamed out and had to go take his nap, but Kolb was still full of life by the time the movers finished and was thrilled to get to run around inside the empty moving van.
My poor parents...this is what a three car garage looks like with all the worldly possessions of the Asmussen Family crammed inside! They generously donated their garage for our storage until we move into our new house so that we wouldn't have to spend thousands to store it.
Next stop: our new house! If all goes as planned, we will be closing on our new home on May 19th and hopefully moving in the next day! We can't wait!
