A Day at the Fair

Last Saturday, Mark's parents took us to the opening day of the South Plains Fair. Even though it was a little hotter than we thought it was going to be, we had a blast! Kolbe got to see all kinds of animals and got to ride on lots of fun rides. Reagan slept through a good portion of it and Mark and I got to enjoy some of the delicious (though not so nutritious!) fair food! Thanks again to G-ma and Grandpa for such a fun day! Here are some pictures of all the fun:

All the boys posed with their baseball hats on.

We're ready to take on the fair!

This guy looked just like Donkey from Shrek.

Kolbe didn't know what to think about the miniature goats. He definitely didn't want to touch!

Movin' On Up

Our little dumpling, Reagan is moving on up in the world! He graduated to his big boy car seat this morning. We have been complaining about how heavy his other car seat was for months now. Needless to say, he has outgrown it, so we finally broke down and ordered his new seat to match Kolbe's. We have been so pleased with Kolbe's Radian seat that, despite the price, we couldn't resist getting another for Roo. They are awesome car seats! We can't believe our little Reagan is getting so big. As always, he continues to be such a joy!

The back seat of the Cami...time to get a bigger vehicle!!!
Yea! I love my new car seat!!!

September Eleventh

So I'm a little late getting this post up considering it's now more than a week after September 11th, but it's better late than never, I suppose. A park that is near our house puts up 1,000 American flags to commemorate September 11th every year. We thought it would be fun to take the boys out and walk around in the flags and hopefully begin to teach them the importance of patriotism. We also got several cute pictures while there!

But pictures weren't the only cool thing we received that night. I texted my brother Andy to tell him we were out there and he told me that he and Abby would come me up with us. About 30 minutes later they arrive and as they approached Abby "took" a few pictures of Kolbe running to them from afar. Once we got close up she said, "Look at this cute picture I just took of Kolb!" Instead of seeing my precious little stinky on the screen, we saw a picture of a positive pregnancy test! That's right, the boys' second cousin is in the oven! Mark and I can't wait to be aunt and uncle! Mike and Casey's little one is due at the end of March and Abby and Andy's is due mid-May. We are SO excited!!! Yea!

So long, summer!

With football season starting last weekend and the weather definitely cooling down a bit here in Lubbock, it's safe to say that summer is pretty much over. But fall, my favorite season, is here! Hooray! As a farewell to summer, I thought I'd put up some of the fun pictures from this passing season that somehow didn't make it in to other posts. Enjoy!

Early June- Kolbe loves play doh!

At the beginning of June, Reagan was starting to get a lot better control of his body so we decided to break out Kolbe's old Exersaucer. Not only has it provided endless fun for Rudy, but it also provides him with a good 8 inch or so shield from his big brother!

My little dumpling

This pic had to be early June because it was before we got my mom and dad's old kitchen table. I love Reagan's face in this pic! The funny thing is Reagan can't even fit in the Bumbo chair any more! His thunder thighs are too big! He looks tiny in it here. Just goes to show you how much they grow in a few months.

Kolbe's sweet goggles that his G-ma got him.

Mark loves to go jogging in the evening. For a long time we contemplated getting a jogging stroller so he could take the boys jogging but continued to put it off since he was in Midland most of the time. We also debated whether we should get a one seater or two seater. Luckily, we spotted this one on craigslist and snagged it up in a heartbeat. Thank God we got the two seater because I've actually been able to get a lot of use out of it too! It handles so well so it's great for taking to the park behind our house and on walks around the neighborhood. Probably my favorite find of the whole summer! LOVE IT!!!

Whenever we'd see metal frame sport carriers like this one at stores like Academy, Mark was always drawn to them. It was one of those manly things that are cool but we'd never actually buy. After all, how often are we going to go hiking in Lubbock??? But when my Uncle Paul and Aunt Pam cleaned our their house, they came across theirs and brought it by as a donation to the Asmussen Family Charity System. (a preferred charity of many wonderful families!) While we still haven't legitimately used it, Mark puts the boys in it from time to time and walks around the house or block. Too funny!

I really should have done a blog posting about 4th of July weekend because we have some great pictures and had a lot of fun. Uncle Brian and Aunt Cristi were in town so we got to spend some good time with them and the rest of the Ramirez/Asmussen family. Mark and Reagan took a lovely little snooze in the Pierce's backyard hammock. I was jealous!

Uncle Brian, Aunt Cristi and the boys!

The last week of July (just before Brian and Cristi's wedding) our good friends Melanie and Joseph and their daughter, Molly were in town. We decided to meet up one morning for a picnic at the park. Kolbe had a blast playing on the playground with Molly and Miss Melanie! (and I enjoyed spending some good time with other adults!)

Aunt Abby was also able to come and at one point while she was holding Reagan, Kolbe decided to climb up on her lap too. Lucky lady!

My handsome little boy is growing up!

Mr. Reagaroo turned 6 months old on August 10th (and today he's SEVEN! Gosh!) and started sitting up on his own on the same day. He too is growing up so fast! He has great core muscles and will sit up on his own for a long time. I pulled out Kolbe's baby book and he's hitting all of his milestones at about the same rate as Kolbe...actually a tiny bit sooner! (which means we could have another walker within the next 2-3 months...frightening!)

Hope everyone else's summer was as wonderful as ours! Can't wait to see what fun the fall holds!
