Kolbe never ceases to amaze me. This summer has been one clever little event after another. Being slightly on the creative side myself, I probably should have considered a little earlier on that one or more of my children might end up being clever too. So far he hasn't managed to get himself in to any real trouble, but Lord knows I could be adding a post tomorrow with a different report! While there have been MANY "interesting" things he has done so far (such as wearing Reagan's Bumbo chair upside down on his head like a war helmet on a regular basis), I've only managed to get a few on camera. Take into consideration the following two exhibits:
Anyone who has been to our house in the past twenty months probably knows all about Kolbe's blue chair. Shortly after Reagan was born, I tried sitting him in it a few times much to Kolbe's disappointment. In an order to keep things fair, I let Kolbe retain his special chair and picked up a cheap bouncy seat on clearance at Target to sit Reagan in while we doing baths, bedtime, or whatnot with Kolbs. But of course, Kolbe decides that Reagan's chair was much cooler and quickly developed an affinity for trying to sit in it although he knew it was off limits. One day when he wouldn't get out of it, I told him that since he wasn't minding, I was going to strap him in and he'd have to stay in the chair for a while since he instisted on not getting out. After wandering off to the kitchen to do a few dishes, I suddenly heard that familiar pitter patter of Kolbe feet mixed with a strange dragging noise. There he was...bouncy seat backpack and all.
Kolbe loves the rain. So the other day when we had a nice little drizzle going on (after a massive down pour) I let him go play in the backyard for a bit. While popping in to check on Reagan, I heard a strange buzzing sound in the backyard. Kolbe had learned several weeks prior how to blow bubbles in the pool and the bathtub. Why not the standing water on his picnic table!?! My favorite part is at the end of the video when you can hear me say "Bye Bye" and he looks at me like "How dare you!" and quasi waves to me. Ha!
